Cross River Head of Service, Dr. Chris Ekong Ita has asserted that information and communication Technology (ICT), is the bedroom of modern development in human life and the society in general.
Ita stated this when he recieved the Chariman and Chief Executive Officer of First Rhema Solutions Limited on a courtesy visit in his office, New Secretariat Complex, Calabar.
He said: “computer compliance is now top priority and anybody that cannot use computer applications to perform his or her functions will find it increasingly difficult to cope in the service and that means such person in living in the past”
The Head of Service noted that, on assumption of office as the Head of Service, he heard complaints from Civil Servants bordering on slow delivery of laptops to them, it became of serious concern to him to see how the delivery can match the needs of the Civil Servants Involved.
He added that, the visit has offered him the opportunity to understand the operations of the company and to address the issues of concerns to Civil Servants on the computer scheme.
Ita described Cross Riverians as discipline, peaceful and very civilized people and advised the firm to put in more efforts in their operations “because their credentials can stand them out if they perform well”
Earlier in his remarks, the Chairman First Rhema Solutions Limited, Amb. Mark Obi GPPA, said that the company is a major player in the Information and Communication Technology sector in the country.
He stressed that, the company has been in operation in the state for eight years and from March 2020, the rate of laptop delivery and distribution would not just increase but would gallop up.
According to Mr Obi, some of the company’s challenges were slow delivery from Hewlett Packard (HP) manufacturer’s of HP Products due to large demands from different parts of the world, stating that their company has partnership with HP and all their laptops comes directly from HP.
He further stated that high inflation affected the exchange rate of dollars against the naira and general insecurity in the country as well as the suspension of salaries of some staff who have collected laptops are been seriously addressed.


Obi assured that First Rhema Solutions Limited believe in quality service to the public and with the cordial industrial climate the state governor has provided, they have seen more opportunities to invest in the state.
Dignitaries from the company at the visit were the Chief Executive Officer Dr. Olisemeka Isiekwe, the Group Managing Director Engr. Charles Obi, their foreign Director from Hp Engr. Sakhwat Ali and Engr. Ernest Ogosi
The Permanent Secretary, Public Service Office, Office of the Head of Service, Elder Emmanuel Enene Eke was also in attendance.
